Samsung Galaxy Watch9 in for review | Infinium-tech
If you have a Galaxy Watch8, this may look familiar. The new Galaxy Watch9 is here, and it looks and feels exactly the same.
It comes in a simple box with a USB-C magnetic charger and a band. You can get the watch in 40mm or 44mm, and it will go on sale on August 7 in a few colors – Cream and Graphite (40mm), Graphite and Silver (44mm). prices are €400 and €490, respectively.
There isn’t much in the way of upgrades, but you do get the new Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC, which should bring an overall smoother experience – faster app launches, better AI performance, and better battery efficiency.
That last bit pairs well with the larger batteries on both models. The 40mm model has a 390mAh battery (up from 325mAh on the Watch8), the 44mm has a 445mAh battery – only 10mAh more than the Watch8.
What’s unchanged is the aluminum casing, sapphire crystal top above the AMOLED display, as well as the construction, which includes IP68 and 5 ATM ratings and some MIL-STD-810H protection.
There is no rotating bezel, nor is there a rotating crown. The Galaxy Watch9 isn’t particularly colorful, nor does it bring major improvements over the Watch8, so if you have the older model, you should probably keep it for another year.
