Geekbench 7 arrives with updated workflows, redesigned multi-core tests | Infinium-tech
Primate Labs has officially released its latest cross-platform benchmarking app – Geekbench 7. The new version brings updated workload tests with redesigned benchmarking in the multi-core CPU and GPU departments.
On the CPU side, Geekbench 7 features new media workloads for audio and video encoding, decoding, and processing. These tests better reflect regular use cases like video calls, screen sharing, and content consumption.

For gaming, Geekbench 7 brings a new game physics workload built on the Jolt Physics Engine. The Photo Editor workload now includes “a rich set of real-world edits”, while the Photo Library workload brings importing and processing of JPEG XL and DNG image formats.
Geekbench 7 takes a new approach by only running multi-core tests if the real-world task uses multiple cores. According to Primate Labs, this will prevent inflated scores. As a result, HTML5 browser testing is no longer included in multi-core tests.

On the GPU side, Geekbench 7 focuses on content creation and machine learning tasks rather than 3D graphics rendering. Examples of GPU tests include modeling face filters in social media apps, enhancing images with machine learning, and modeling virtual background features in video conferencing apps.
