Nothing Phone (2a) Plus announced with Dimensity 7350 Plus, 50MP selfie cam and 50W charging | Infinium-tech

Nothing’s Phone (2a) was launched back in March, and now its successor is here. The Phone (2a) Plus is an improved version of the Phone (2a) that features an updated chipset, a new 50MP selfie camera, and two new colour options – Metallic Grey and an updated Black.

The Dimensity 7350 Plus is a big new change. It is an overclocked version of the Dimensity 7200 Pro from the phone (2a) that has been developed in collaboration with MediaTek specifically for the phone (2a) Plus.

The new chip has an octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 3.0 GHz, as well as 6x Cortex-A510 units @ 2.0 GHz. The GPU uses the same Mali-G610 MC4 unit, but now running at 1.3 GHz. There’s nothing that says you can expect 10% faster CPU performance and a 30% bump in GPU-intensive tasks.

The other big change is the new 50MP front-facing camera on the Phone (2a) Plus which replaces the 32MP front-facing cam on the Phone (2a). The new imager now supports 4K video recording at up to 30fps. It is still housed inside the punch-hole cutout on the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen (FHD+ 120Hz). At the back is the same 50MP main cam (24mm) and 50MP ultrawide lens.

The phone (2a) Plus also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 50W wired charging support, which is a slight upgrade over the 45W of the phone (2a).

Talking about the software, it has Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14, with ChatGPT integration and a new News Reporter widget that reads news aloud using the voice of Nothing CFO Tim Holbrow. This feature is also available for other Nothing phones via the Nothing Widget app from the Google Play Store.

The Nothing store in Soho, London will start selling the Phone (2a) Plus from 11am BST on August 3. Buyers in the US can get the device through Nothing’s US beta program from 9am ET on August 7.

The Phone (2a) Plus will be priced in India at Rs. 27,999 ($334) for the 8/256GB trim and Rs. 29,999 ($358) for the 12/256GB version. Both versions will be available on Flipkart starting August 7.

Further market availability for the Phone(2a) Plus will not be announced until September.
