MacBook Pro OLED panels ready to go into mass production next month, new report says | Infinium-tech
Samsung Display has reached above 90% completion rate for OLED panels intended for the next-generation Apple MacBook Pro, according to a new report from Korea. In fact, some processes even reached 95% yield.
The panels will be ready for mass production and subsequent shipment to Apple assemblers in early June, the report said. The supply volume is estimated at around 2 million units.

Manufacturing OLED panels for laptops is more difficult than for smartphones due to the larger area, and how brightness, lifetime and uniformity requirements are affected by this.
Apple is expected to launch the MacBook Ultra this year or next, which is rumored to come with an OLED touchscreen. On the other hand, the next-generation MacBook Pro may get an OLED panel but without touch functionality.
