Galaxy S25 Ultra to be thinner and lighter than iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra has long been rumoured to have a different shape than its predecessor, with the corners of the frame more rounded so it doesn’t press into your hand.
Now, a new rumour claims that Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will be thinner and lighter than both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL.
Unofficial render of the Galaxy S25 Ultra based on leaked information
Although we don’t have official dimensions for the former yet, as it’s only going to go official on September 9, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is 8.5mm thick and weighs 221 grams. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is 8.6mm thick and weighs 232 grams.
So, taking these numbers into account, the Galaxy S25 Ultra should have a maximum thickness of 8.4mm and weigh 220 grams or less. But wait, there’s more – the source of this information, a famous Chinese leakster known as Ice Universe, says that the S25 Ultra will not only be thinner and lighter than these two devices, but also thinner and lighter than all Ultra flagship phones that will be released soon.
We assume this includes the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Vivo X200 Ultra, all of which are set to arrive at various points over the next few months. So with the overall thinness and lightness and its incredibly small bezels, the S25 Ultra could actually be quite a tempting proposition.
