Google’s Circle to Search is now available in Chrome | Infinium-tech
Google’s Circle to Search AI feature debuted on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 family earlier this year, and now you can use it on your computer in Chrome as well. The feature has been made available on both ChromeOS and the Chrome browser.
However, there’s a (slight) catch. Or two. First, we’re talking about the ChromeOS 127 beta build and Chrome 128 beta for Windows or macOS. Second, Circle to Search isn’t actually labeled as such for any reason. Instead, it’s called “Search with Google Lens.”
If you are on the beta track of ChromeOS or Chrome for Windows or macOS, you can give it a try. In Chrome on Windows/macOS go to the three dot menu and then choose Search with Google Lens. You can then choose a region (circle it, if you prefer) and you’ll get instant results in the side panel. On ChromeOS, you can use the Google Lens icon in the address bar for the same effect. Google’s release notes for Chrome 128 beta describe this feature quite well:
Google Lens in Chrome lets you easily search for anything you see on your screen. Search a video you’re watching, a slide in a livestream, or an image on a webpage. Google Lens will give you the answer right there, in your tab, and you can continue browsing with your new information.
After that, it will take just a few weeks for Chrome 128 for Windows and macOS to be promoted to the stable channel, and the same will apply to ChromeOS 127. When that happens, everyone will have access to Circle to Search in Chrome, regardless of what name Google chooses for it.
