Weekly poll results: the vivo V40 Pro is a solid but pricey upgrade, the V40 has to prove itself | Infinium-tech
Last week’s survey revealed mixed opinions about the Vivo V40 Pro – some people think it’s a great value for money option, but even more think it’s overpriced. To be fair, there are regional variations in terms of price and competition.
The Vivo V40 Pro is seen as a version of the V30 Pro with a flagship chipset. Speaking of which, the V30 Pro is only a few months old (it was launched this March), so some people are tempted to wait for the V50 Pro. But as of now, the V40 Pro is a great option if you want high-quality cameras.
As usual there were some complaints about the curved screen, but the durability of the IP69K rating, the large 5,500mAh battery, the 50MP 50mm tele camera, and the Dimensity 9200+ are all seen as good reasons to pick up the V40 Pro.
The vanilla Vivo V40 is a pretty minor upgrade – same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, same curved 6.78″ OLED display too. True, it gets an IP69K rating (up from the original’s IP54) and the battery is 500mAh larger. However, the popularity of this model will depend more on reviews than its Pro sibling.
The Zeiss label on the back promises better optics than the V30, so the image quality improvements could tilt things in the V40’s favour. However, the price is an issue, as for the same amount you can get the Xiaomi 14 Civi with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which also has a tele camera, unlike the V40.
