Weekly poll results: the Tecno Phantom V Fold2 and V Flip2 show promise | Infinium-tech

The results of last week’s survey are in and Tecno’s new foldables are performing quite well. However, reviews are being relied upon heavily as the new V-foldables may double in popularity if they get a thumbs up.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold2 faced criticism for reusing its predecessor’s Dimensity 9000+ chipset. On the plus side, Tecno managed to keep the price lower than competing horizontal foldables and brought a major battery upgrade in this generation (+750mAh capacity and faster charging).

The Tecno Phantom V Flip2 has a different chipset from its predecessor, but it is not an upgrade, so it has attracted some negative comments as well. That said, overall the V Flip2 is seen as a bigger upgrade than the V Fold2 over the original.

Availability is an issue right now – the Phantom V Fold2 and V Flip2 are available in Africa and should expand to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America next month. However, we haven’t heard anything about a European launch yet.

One final piece of criticism we saw often in the comments was about the software – Tecno needs to build its reputation when it comes to keeping older phones on current software.
