Weekly poll results: the Oppo Reno13 series faces an uphill battle to win over consumers | Infinium-tech
Oppo may want to rethink its strategy of twice a year releases for the Reno series as things are becoming too much. Are the Reno13 models better than their Reno12 counterparts? In some ways yes, in some ways no.
The end result is that the majority of people who voted in last week’s poll are looking to other middle-class people. Anyway, when did Renaults become mid-rangers? The Reno11 Pro (in China) had the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Reno12 Pro (in China) had the Dimensity 9200+ and now the Reno13 Pro only gets the Dimensity 8350.
The Oppo Reno13 Pro in its configuration for the Chinese market has some potential, especially if it has good reviews. As you’ll see in the next chart, despite having the same chipset as the vanilla model, the Pro is the preferred model of the two.
The vanilla Oppo Reno13 faces a more uphill battle. Again, these are China models – we haven’t seen the global hardware yet. Typically, global hardware is a downgrade compared to Chinese models, so things may look even more serious for the Reno13 series.
Oppo has not yet offered any update on the global launch. The Reno12 series launches in China in May 2024, with its global variants launching in June. Therefore, late December or early January are likely targets for global Reno13.
