Welcome to your week’s summary. Vivo introduced the V40 series with the vanilla and the V40 Pro. Both phones come with a 5,500mAh battery – the biggest battery in the V series so far. The Vivo V40 gets the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor from the Vivo V30, while the Vivo V40 Pro takes a big leap and now has the Dimensity 9200+ chip, which is much more powerful than the Dimensity 8200 used in the previous three Vivo V Pro phones.

The Vivo V40 and V40 Pro are now available for sale in India, which expands the availability of the former in Europe. Both will then gradually reach other markets where Vivo operates. The V40 starts at INR39,999 in India and €500 in Europe, while the Vivo V40 Pro has a base price of INR54,999.

Infinix Note 40X 5G launched with Dimensity 6300 and 108MP main camera. The phone is available in Starlit Black, Lime Green, and Palm Blue colors, starting at INR 13,999 ($167).

Two chipset stories have also emerged – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to be unveiled in October, broke cover on Geekbench. Comparing the early results with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it shows a promising 35% increase in single-core performance and 30% in multi-core.

MediaTek officially announced its Helio G100 chipset eight days after the launch of the first phone on the platform – the Tecno Camon 30S Pro. The detailed specs shared by MediaTek show that the Helio G100 is almost identical to the Helio G99 when it comes to the CPU and GPU.
