iPad Pro is the best selling iPad | Infinium-tech
Sometimes intuitive reasoning doesn’t work. For example: You might assume that the cheapest iPad is the best-selling iPad. But no. It’s actually the opposite.
According to a new report from CIRP today, the best-selling iPad is the iPad Pro. In the second quarter of this year (April to June), iPad Pro sales accounted for 43% of total iPad sales, leading the pack.
As you can see, the vanilla iPad was in second place with a 35% share of sales, followed by the iPad Air with a 12% share and the iPad mini with a 10% share. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, the iPad Pro’s share has increased by 5%, the vanilla iPad’s share remained stable, while the shares of both the iPad Air and iPad mini declined, causing iPad Pro sales to shrink even further.
Now, there’s a very obvious caveat here. The new iPad Pro models launched in May, in the middle of Q2, and that obviously had an impact on these numbers. Then again, the new iPad Air models also launched at the same time, and yet nobody wants them.
CIRP expects market share for the iPad to stabilize within one or two quarters, after which we’ll be able to more clearly ascertain whether the iPad Pro surge was a limited-time phenomenon based on the latest generation’s launch timeframe.
