Samsung now said to be using the Exynos 2600 in the Galaxy S26 series in just one market | Infinium-tech
To Exynos or not to Exynos, that’s the question for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series. And, in addition, Where? To Exynos? We’ve heard several reports already saying several different things – either only the S26 and S26+ will get the soon-to-be-revealed Exynos 2600 SoC, or perhaps the Ultra too, but only in certain regions.
Today a new rumor has made the situation even worse, claiming that all three S26 models will actually use the Exynos 2600, but only in one market: Korea. We have to say that we’re very skeptical of this claim, as Samsung has previously brought Exynos S-series devices to Europe.
Anyway, the story is that Samsung has apparently taken note of the hate its Exynos chips have been getting online around the world and everyone’s preference towards Snapdragon chips. Additionally, the company’s contract with Qualcomm reportedly stipulates that at least 75% of all Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra units sold globally must use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, otherwise Samsung will have to pay a hefty amount as compensation.
Additionally, the Exynos 2600’s yields are said to not be ideal right now, although yields for its 2nm GAA process are improving faster than earlier 3nm processes, so even if it wanted to, Samsung might not be able to equip more S26 units with its chip. However, we wouldn’t take any of this lightly – surely another rumor will come tomorrow and refute at least part of it. After all, this is how things have been going on this front recently.
