Samsung is now blocking apps that spam your notifications with ads | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s Device Care app recently got an update to version 13.8.80.7. This is noteworthy because it brings with it a new feature that can prove to be very useful for many people.
The app can now detect and block apps that are spamming your notification area with ads. Apps that exhibit this behavior will be put into deep sleep to prevent them from disturbing you again. Basic blocking uses a list of “apps that are constantly sent advertisements by Samsung” and blocks them when they are found on your phone.

The Intelligent Blocking option continuously analyzes your notifications to determine if they are advertisements and blocks them if they occur repeatedly. “This determination may not always be accurate,” Samsung’s disclaimer says.
Of course you can do all this manually too – if you notice that an app is spamming your notifications with ads you can uninstall it immediately. But it provides an automated system. Device Care is an app built into One UI, so you should have it no matter what Samsung device you’re using, but the caveat is that this feature is only seen on One UI 8.5 so far, so you may need to be on that version to get it. The rollout of the new feature is ongoing and may take a few more days or weeks to be finished.
