Leaked info on Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 batteries brings disappointing news | Infinium-tech
With the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is turning its focus to the next generation of foldables. While working on those earnings, details of the two battery cells for the Galaxy Z Flip8 have emerged and they bring bad news for anyone hoping to upgrade.
The two cells, EB-BF776 and EB-BF777, have a rated capacity of 1,150mAh and 3,024mAh respectively. This increases to 4,174mAh. Last year’s Galaxy Z Flip7 had exactly the same rated capacity, although the split was slightly different – 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh.

Either way, we expect the Z Flip8 to be marketed as having a normal capacity battery of 4,300mAh, which is the same as its predecessor. Note that the difference is due to manufacturing variability – rated capacity is the absolute minimum, while specific capacity is what can be expected on average.
Rumor has it that Samsung expects the Z Fold8 to outsell the Z Flip8, which would be the first time that a Fold has been more popular than the Flip. The third foldable this year will likely not be a second Z Flip FE but an expanded Z Fold, so Samsung will lean towards book-style foldables.

Anyway, back to the Galaxy Z Flip8 and the reasons why it might not be selling so well – a) it’s not getting a battery upgrade and b) it’s not even getting a camera upgrade. According to the leaked specs, it will have a 50+12MP dual camera on the outside and a 10MP selfie camera inside. In other words, the same camera setup as the Z Flip7 and Z Flip6. Flips are getting the Galaxy S treatment, huh?
