Samsung Galaxy Fold8 series gets a significant battery life boost, EU ratings reveal | Infinium-tech
According to the latest leak, the Galaxy Z Fold8 (formerly known as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide) and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra (the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7) are expected to come with significantly larger batteries than their bigger siblings. In fact, some rumors suggest that Samsung is finally adopting Si/C battery technology. But how much better will the battery life be?

Well, to know for sure, we should test the devices once we get our hands on the first review units. However, EU regulatory bodies may be able to give us a good idea of what to expect in terms of endurance.
The European Product Registry for Energy Labeling (EPREL) published the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold Ultra’s endurance ratings of 49:10 hours and 51:00 hours respectively. Both the handsets achieve the score by using 4,800 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries.
Now, if you compare the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold7 predecessor with a 40:28h rating and a 4,400 mAh battery, the improvement in endurance is about 20%.
Of course, your experience may vary as everyone uses their phones differently, but one thing is certain at this point – the new Galaxy Z Fold8 lineup will offer larger batteries. A much needed upgrade.
