Redmi Pad 2 Pro hands-on | Infinium-tech
Xiaomi hosted a major event this week, where we saw the introduction of several new equipment, including Redmi Pad 2 Pro. We got to test the pad 2 Pro with a matt glass screen, and these are our first impressions.
For € 380 tablet, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Matt Glass version looks like a more expensive device and looks. It brings an aluminum unibody, which is cool to the touch, and at 610 grams, it has some heat, but not in a bad way. It actually feels lighter than what you will expect from a tablet of this size, and it is quite thin at 7.5 mm.
The 12.1-inch IPS LCD has a 120Hz refresh rate and a long 16:10 aspect ratio with 1,600 x 2,560 PX resolution. The panel has been rated to 600 Nits of Peak Brightness, which is not higher than more expensive pills, but it looked decent when we tested it indoors.
Matt texcharged screen bay was very good at keeping reflection, which is always important on a large screen. The panel is flanks by a quad speaker with dolby atomos support, which produce decent volumes.
Going around the device, we have power buttons and two of the four speakers and at the top. It is a matter of regret that there is no fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button, a strange lapse that is a lot of the recently launched Android Tablet for some reason.
The right hand side has a volume rocker and microSD card slot, while there are two more speakers, USB-C port, and even space for a good-old 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro Top and Bottom
The Xiaomi Pad 2 is offering several first-sided items to the Pro, including a flip cover, a keyboard case and a redmi smart pen stylus with 4,096 level pressure sensitivity. The cover and keyboard have a dedicated holester to stylus, which is good for the time when you go.
When we are on this subject, the humble 12,000 mAh battery of the pad 2 Pro, in association with Snapdragon 7S General 4, should last enough time. You also get 33W wired charging, which is not the fastest, but it is still better what some contestants offer.

For performance, Pad 2 Pro looked smooth and liable in our initial trials. Everyone loved simple tasks such as web browsing with continuous switching between media playback and multitasking. We will ensure to provide more information about its continuous performance and benchmarks in our full review. A quick word on the software side – we are running Hyperose 2 based on Android 15, although an update of Hyperos 3 is coming soon.
Right now we have the pad 2 Pro. This sounds like a solid midrange tablet, but we will reserve our decision for our complete review.
