Samsung demonstrates live translation capabilities of Galaxy AI at Paris Olympics | Infinium-tech
Samsung gifted the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to all athletes at Paris 2024, and the company has now revealed one of the most used features by participants and fans.
Samsung announced today that the new foldable is “creating and promoting meaningful communication” between athletes with the Interpreter feature. The feature allows two people to talk in real-time in their respective languages, and the phone will automatically translate the words and also visualize them on its two screens.
Team Samsung Galaxy members Alessandro Mazzara from Team Italy and Wilma Anna Helena Murto from Team Finland test the Interpreter on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
Team Samsung Galaxy members Wilma Anna Helena Murto (athletics) from Finland and Alessandro Mazzara (skateboarding) from Italy said the facility makes a huge difference, especially for those who frequently travel to different parts of the world.
Samsung also set up a demo shop at Champs-Élysées 125 and Square Marigny, where everyone was able to experience the new foldable in hand. Visitors called the interpreter feature “convenient” and “helpful”, while a Samsung representative explained that the entire process takes place on the device itself and there is no need for an online connection.

Volunteers are also an important part of the Olympics, and Emmanuel Mantilla Jr. from the Philippines said he doesn’t speak French either, but the interpreter app on his Galaxy S24 Ultra helped him a lot in communicating with fellow volunteers.
Samsung’s participation in the Olympic Games has been spectacular. The company provided more than 200 smartphones to broadcast the athletes’ parade live. All of these units were Galaxy S24 Ultra, which were later used to broadcast the sailing competition.
The Flip6 has been a staple of awards ceremonies held in Paris, including A viral heartwarming moment When athletes from North Korea, South Korea and China took a selfie together in what many have called a “true Olympic moment” of unity.
