Red Magic Titan 16 Pro in for review | Infinium-tech
Red Magic has expanded its ecosystem today with what seems like a very natural addition – a gaming laptop called the Red Magic Titan 16 Pro. It debuted in China in July, but now it’s finally going international, and we have one in for review.
This is a powerful laptop with an Intel Core i9 processor and an Nvidia GPU – ours came with an RTX4060, but an RTX4070 version is also available. The laptop has an over-engineered gaming aesthetic similar to the Red Magic smartphone and many other portable gaming computers.
The Titan is quite heavy by modern standards, with its 2.4kg body measuring 23.9mm thick. This is obviously normal when you want good cooling which is essential for a smooth gaming session, but it doesn’t make it easy to carry around.
The weight alone of the two-piece proprietary charger needed to provide enough power to the GPU and CPU at full capacity is comparable to the weight of many of the ultraportables we’ve reviewed recently.
Specifications-wise, our unit comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM manufactured by Samsung, while the SSD is 1TB with 7,000MB/s read speed; there is also a PCIe 4.0 M.2 expansion slot for adding a second SSD. It also has two large fans running at 3,850rpm, dual speakers, and 100W PD fast charging support.
It has a full-size HDMI port, three USB-A ports on three different sides, a regular USB-C, and a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C.
The Red Magic Titan 16 Pro has an RGB backlit keyboard, because that’s exactly what it is. The Red Magic logo on the cover also glows in multiple colors, leaving no doubt to those around that this is indeed a gaming laptop.
The Red Magic Titan 16 Pro comes with a 16-inch 2.5K display with a 240Hz refresh rate, which is quite demanding, but we’ll see how the GPU handles it in our full review.
We’ll have our decision in a few weeks – stay tuned!
