Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 spotted in the wild running HyperOS 4 | Infinium-tech

Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 5 is coming; We know this much for sure. In fact, it may be coming sooner, with many rumors speculating an August 2026 release timeframe. The device has already been certified in China before any device in the Xiaomi 18 family, which is a good sign for a possible early release. Also, unlike the Xiaomi 18 family, the Mix Fold 5 doesn’t need to wait for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite Gen 6 chipset, as almost every source agrees that it will run on the company’s in-house Xring O3 SoC, which is a better successor to last year’s O1.

Raising expectations for an early release even more, some live shots of a foldable device have been leaked, which is presumably the Mix Fold 5. The photos don’t reveal much, but the device is being reported as “Lhasa” – the already well-known codename of the Mix Fold 5. Furthermore, we can clearly see that the phone in question is running an OS version that starts from 4.0 and is based on Android 17. This checks out Xiaomi’s long-standing practice. Bundling a major HyperOS release with a major Android version upgrade. Also, the visuals that can be seen appear to be similar to the current HyperOS styling, with what appear to be some shifts towards the Glass-infused design language that Android 17 introduces to the wider ecosystem.

As for other alleged specifications, current sources speculate that the Mix Fold 5 will feature a 7.5- to 7.6-inch flexible display with “seamless-crease” technology. Apart from the in-house chipset, we also expect a 200MP main camera, full water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 6,000 mAh battery with wireless charging.

Unfortunately, there’s already a price point in play, and it’s somewhere in the CNY 10,000 ballpark, which is about $1,400. And this is just on the domestic market.
