Qualcomm silently introduces Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 | Infinium-tech
Qualcomm’s latest chipset is called the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and it quietly appeared on the company’s website over the weekend. The new mid-range platform comes to replace the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 as the company forgot that there is no second-gen version of the 4nm chip.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 brings improved AI performance for tasks like activity tracking and noise cancellation during calls. The chip is actually identical to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, but there are some downgrades in the CPU and display department.

The Snapdragon 6 Generation 3 comes with an octa-core CPU – four 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores, which matches the setup architecture of the Snapdragon 7s Generation 2, but lags slightly in efficiency core clock (the 7s Generation 2 runs at 1.95 GHz). Another difference is that the 6 Generation 3 supports displays up to Full HD+ resolution at a 120 Hz refresh rate, not 144 Hz like the 7s.
Qualcomm has used the Adreno 710 GPU, and the chip supports both the older LPDDR4X and the newer LPDDR5 RAM versions, but only supports UFS 3.1 storage. Connectivity support on the new chip also includes Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.
In the camera department, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 can handle up to 48MP single sensor, 32MP and 16MP dual sensors or 200MP photo capture for continuous reading.
Qualcomm has not published any official press release about the chipset, and we don’t know when this product will be available to OEMs.
