Google Pixel 9 Pro XL specs leak, AI feature demoed | Infinium-tech
Pixel 9 phones are everywhere these days, except where they should be: secretly. We’ve had leaks almost daily and the latest leak has a pretty detailed list of specs for the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.
As we’ve heard before, the 9-series will break with tradition and come with the existing Android 14 instead of introducing the next version. This is likely a side effect of pushing the launch forward (the Pixel 8 phones came in November). The 9-series phones will get 7 years of feature drops, just like the 8-series.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL (as well as the vanilla Pixel 9 and 9 Pro) will be powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset paired with a Titan M2 security chip. The Pro XL will have 16GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as the base, with storage options going up to 1TB. The base price will be $1,100. The 256GB model will cost $1,200, but it looks like pre-orders will have a free storage upgrade up to 512GB.
The XL phone is named due to its 6.8” display, an OLED panel with a 1,344 x 2,992px resolution and up to 3,000 nits of brightness (note: some earlier leaks suggested a 6.73” diagonal and lower brightness). The display will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It will have a 42MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens.
On the back, the 50MP wide camera with an f/1.68 lens will be joined by a 48MP 5x periscope (f/2.8) and a 48MP ultra wide (123°, f/1.7). Based on previous leaks, the main camera will be a Samsung GNK 1/1.31” sensor and will have OIS. The ultra wide module will use the Sony IMX585 (1/2.51”). Both of these cameras will be featured on all three Pixel 9 models. Exclusive to the Pro and Pro XL will be a tele module using the same IMX858 sensor plus OIS. Google really likes this sensor, as it will use it (along with an AF lens) for the selfie module as well. Note that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will use a different camera setup.
There’s no battery charging information in this leak, but a previous leak detailed a 5,060mAh capacity and 45W wired charging (wireless speed TBD).
Naturally, the phone will have Gemini AI-powered functions. Pixel Studio will use AI to create images. Reimagine will turn an object in a photo into something else, shown below turning a road into a river. There will be an AI-powered weather app that will provide summaries and outfit tips, as well as Screenshot Search, which will scour your image gallery for a particular screenshot based on a natural language prompt.

Finally, in case you’ve gone 24 hours without seeing new leaked images of Pixel phones, here are some shots of the Pixel 9 Pro (not XL).
Google will officially unveil the Pixel 9 series, including the second-generation Fold, on August 13.
