OnePlus unveils OxygenOS 16 with more AI | Infinium-tech
OnePlus today announced OxygenOS 16, the next major release of its software. Based on Android 16, this latest release focuses on AI features, better fluidity, wider connectivity, and more customizability.

OxygenOS 16 includes many of the OnePlus AI features included with OxygenOS 15, along with some improvements as well as some new features. Mind Space has been updated with Google Gemini integration, so you can now ask Gemini to search for content within Mind Space or use it to create an itinerary. Mind Space also gets voice note functionality as well as the ability to create smart collections.

New for this year is the AI Writer feature, which can help generate creative text based on a prompt, or proofread and modify existing text in almost any app. AI Recorder can record sessions and automatically transcribe them, identifying the speakers. The Gallery app also has new AI features that can adjust the lighting on your face in portrait shots as well as correct expressions and closed eyes using previous photos.

Apart from AI features, OxygenOS 16 also improves the fluidity of the UI. The parallel processing feature introduced with OxygenOS 15 now works across many more parts of the UI, making the entire experience smoother and more responsive. The lockscreen gets many more customization options, including new clock views, widgets, as well as live photo and video support. And homescreens get customizable icon sizes that can now contain additional functionality for quick access.

OnePlus is also improving cross-platform connectivity. You can now share across your phone and tablet, as well as access your data from a Mac or PC. OnePlus is also adding support for the Apple Watch, where owners can access notifications, messages, calls, and more from Apple’s devices.

If you’re a OnePlus tablet user, expect the same customizable home and lockscreen experience as on the phone, along with better multitasking.

OnePlus is currently opening up the OxygenOS 16 beta program for those who want to try it out early. For the stable release, see the image above.
