iPhone 16 is off to a slow start in the US | Infinium-tech
As renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reiterated several times, the baseline iPhone 16 is not attracting much attention from consumers. Latest report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) Further proof comes with a detailed description of iPhone model deliveries for the quarter ending in September, which coincides with the first two weeks of sales of the 16 series in the US.
According to the data, the baseline iPhone 16 share accounts for just 4% of all iPhones – a significant decrease from the iPhone 15’s 10% share from last year. The 16 Plus performed slightly better than its predecessor, which was 4% of all iPhones. The 16 Pro matched last year’s iPhone 15 Pro, while the 16 Pro Max was less demanding than its predecessor.
The combined share of this year’s iPhone 16 series (20%) is lower than that of the iPhone 15 models from a year ago (28%). The iPhone 15 series accounted for 56% of all iPhone sales this September.
