Huawei teases spectral image sensor for Mate 70 series | Infinium-tech

We’re less than a week away from the announcement of the Huawei Mate 70 series, and the teaser campaign is in full swing. The latest piece of the puzzle details an important camera development that could be one of the major upgrades on the new phone.

Huawei will bring a dedicated spectral imaging sensor called “Red Maple” to its Mate 70 series phones. The brief teaser video shows the new sensor in action, along with some samples highlighting natural color rendition.

Unlike the traditional red, green, green, blue (RGGB) color sensor or red, yellow, yellow, blue (RYB) on previous Huawei phones, the spectral imaging module can collect more color data, thereby improving color accuracy, natural skin Tone could be better. Shade protection.

It looks like the new sensor will process image data and may be connected to a dedicated imaging chip but we’re still guessing here as Huawei hasn’t shared any additional information. From what we can guess, the new sensor will work in conjunction with the main, telephoto, and ultrawide sensors to aid in color processing.
