The Mate 80 Pro Max is similar to the Mate 80 Pro in design, but it comes with a larger display, better chipset, quad-rear camera setup, and a bigger battery. The phone features a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 8,000-nit peak brightness.
It is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro SoC, paired with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The phone runs HarmonyOS 6, which brings many UI changes and AI features.

On the rear, the Pro Max sports a quad camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture and OIS, a 40MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP macro telephoto camera with f/2.1 and OIS, and a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS and 6.2x optical zoom. All this is complemented by Huawei’s second-generation Red Maple imaging chipset.
For selfies, the phone has a 13MP camera and also has 3D depth sensing technology.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
Other specifications include IP68 + IP69 rating, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, satellite communications support, NFC, USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, stereo speakers, and an infrared sensor.

The phone is available in Aurora Blue, Polar Day Gold, Polar Region Silver and Polar Night Black colors. Its thickness is 8.25 mm and weight is 239 grams.
Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design

The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design, as the name suggests, offers a unique design with a redesigned rear camera module and rear panel. However, in terms of specification, it shares a lot with the Pro Max.
For example, the phone offers the same chipset, display, camera, battery, and other specifications as the Pro Max model. The only notable difference is that the phone comes with 20GB of RAM as standard.

It has a titanium mid-frame and 3rd generation basalt tempered Kunlun glass on the display. The phone is still 8.25mm thick, but weighs 249 grams.
The Ultimate Design is available in Hibiscus Purple, Jet Black and Pure White colours.

The Mate 80 Pro Max starts at CNY 7,999 ($1,125) for the 16GB/512GB option, while the 16GB/1TB variant will cost you CNY 8,999 ($1,265).
