DJI reveals the Osmo Pocket 4P tailored for independent filmmakers | Infinium-tech
During this year’s Cannes Film Festival, DJI took the stage for a brief moment and introduced the Osmo Pocket 4P, a more advanced version of the regular Osmo Pocket 4 that the company introduced last month.

While the regular Pocket 4 is aimed at mainstream content creators and vloggers, the Pocket 4P is geared towards professional, independent filmmakers. With its powerful, yet compact hardware, the Pocket 4P seeks to replace a large portion of the bulky equipment involved in film production. Therefore, the product was introduced at the Cannes Film Festival, although not fully revealed.
DJI itself didn’t go into much detail, but we’ll likely get more details soon. For now, we’ll have to make do with vague details of an improved main sensor capable of capturing a wider dynamic range. The zoom capabilities have also been improved, which will help in good portrait shots as well. New color reproduction algorithms render skin color more accurately.
Speaking of color, the compact camera setup supports 10-bit D-Log2 color profiles for professional-grade color grading.
The more powerful sensor allowed the Pocket 4P to render night-time and indoor scenes with greater detail and wider dynamic range.
Of course, the camera pairs with a wide range of DJI accessories that improve stabilization, audio, and more.
However, DJI hasn’t said when the Osmo Pocket 4P is expected to arrive, so we can only sit and wait for it to appear on DJI’s official web store.
