XploraOne by HMD is a hybrid phone for kids | Infinium-tech
About two months ago, HMD launched its Touch 4G – a hybrid phone that blends smartphone features inside a feature phone. HMD is now bringing another interesting device, which is aimed at kids and has been co-developed with Norwegian brand Explora – an established player in the kids’ smartwatch market.
The XploraOne by HMD is a similar concept to the HMD Touch 4G, but with a clear focus on being kid-friendly. Although no details or pricing have been shared for the device yet, we can see design similarities with the HMD Touch 4G.
The XploraOne brings a similar-looking compact touchscreen, selfie cam, and home button on the front. There is a camera and an LED flash on the back. We can also see a physical SIM slot on the left and a power and volume rocker on the right. There appears to be an additional button on the top as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Teasers confirm that the XploraOne can make and take calls, send typed and voice messages. It has extensive parental controls and no third-party apps, web browsers, or social media apps. HMD and Explora are expected to share more details about the device soon.
