Weekly poll: will you buy the Realme GT 7 Pro? | Infinium-tech

It seems like the Pro skips a generation, so Realme went from the GT5 Pro to the Realme GT7 Pro with the GT6 and GT6T in between. The 6-Series offered great value at mid-range prices, but the extra budget of the Pro model allows for some impressive figures.

Let’s start with the display. It’s a 6.78” LTPO panel with a 1,264 x 2,780px resolution – the same as many other GT models. However, it was developed by Samsung to be both super efficient and super bright (reaching up to 6,000 nits). Like many other brands, Realme has removed the optical fingerprint reader in favor of ultrasonic.

You also get the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite and a bigger battery – 6,500mAh for the Chinese unit, but India is getting the smaller 5,800mAh. This is still the largest battery in the GT family. Another first is that this is the first Realme phone to have an IP68 rating and it also has IP69.

The GT-series is known for performance, battery technology and to some extent, display. But lately, it’s also taking cameras seriously. It primarily consists of a 50MP 1/1.56” sensor (IMX906), a 50MP 3x telephoto (a long 73mm lens, 1/1.95” IMX882) and an 8MP ultra-wide. 8K video recording is an option, though it tops out at 24fps.

Weekly Survey: Will you buy Realme GT 7 Pro?

Realme GT 7 Pro launched in China with price starting at CNY 3,600 for the 12/256GB unit. It’s around $505/€465, but we don’t have global pricing yet.

This price is significantly lower than some other Snapdragon 8 Elite models. For example, the OnePlus 13 is CNY 4,500 for the same memory configuration. Whereas, the price of Xiaomi 15 Pro is CNY 5,300. Dimensity 9400 models like the Vivo X200 Pro (CNY 5,300) and Oppo Find X8 Pro (CNY 5,300) are also very expensive. To be fair, these are more premium offerings and have dominance in some areas, but they may be above your budget.

The iQOO 13 comes closer to the CNY 4,000 price tag. It also uses the 8 Elite and is IP68/IP69 rated. The display is different, a 6.82” panel with a high 1440p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The battery (in Chinese units) is small at 6,150mAh. The camera setup gets an improved 50MP ultra-wide at the expense of the telephoto module – it has a smaller 50MP sensor (1/2.93” vs 1/1.95”) and a smaller 46mm lens (2x).

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is not available in China, so we can’t compare the price directly, but it costs €800 in Western markets. It uses the older Dimensity 9300+ and a 6.67” 12-bit 144Hz display (not an LTPO panel). The main camera has a larger 1/1.31” 50MP sensor, but the telephoto has a smaller 1/2.88” sensor behind a 60mm lens (2.6x). Ultra wide is a little better but still not great at 12MP. This phone has a 5,000mAh battery and IP68 rating.

While the Realme GT 7 Pro will take on other competitors soon, we’ll know more as the company announces its plans for a global rollout. The launch for India is scheduled for November 26 when the GT7 Pro will become the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone in the country.

We’ll have a review up soon, in the meantime let us know what you think about the Realme GT 7 Pro.
