US could ban the import of the Chinese OLED BOE panels | Infinium-tech
Samsung filed a case against the Chinese panel manufacturer Boa two years ago, in which the company stole a business secret from the Korean tech veteran. And it seems that the decision of the US ITC (International Trade Commission) may ban the import of BOE panels in the US.

According to sources familiar with the case, ITC has decided to ban the import of BOE OLED panels in the US for the next 14 years and 8 months. The ruling is not final, but the conclusion that BOE and its seven colleagues have violated the US tariff act by selling their panels through the misuse of Samsung’s trade secrets.
The final decision is scheduled to be held in November, but experts and analysts believe that the court will probably maintain the ban.
If the ITC completes the ban, it will give some breathing chamber to Samsung, as in recent years, the sown industry is combating the dominance of the Korean company. Boa’s OLED panels now match Samsung in terms of quality and performance, reducing prices.
In addition, BOE supplies about 22.7% iPhones with its OLED panels, so if the decision to ban the import of products related to BOE is final in November, Apple will be forced to more sources of their pens from Samsung and LG.
Apple is not the only US-based company that will suffer from such trade ban. Both HP and Dell use the BOE panel for some of their products.
