UK drops its request for encrypted iCloud data backdoor | Infinium-tech
Back in February, the UK Home Secretary’s office issued a technical capacity notice to Apple, requesting a back door made icloud user data backup encrypted. Shortly after the request, Apple released one Government statement Which said that it will no longer offer its advanced data protection (ADP) to new users in the UK. Cupertino also challenged the decision in the UK’s Investigation Power Tribunal (IPT).
Six months after these incidents, Tulsi Gabard, USA’s US director of National Intelligence, confirmed that the UK had withdrawn its requests after months of negotiation between the two governments. Following the initial demand from the UK, the US started investigating the conditions and whether these demands were violating the Cloud Act between the two countries.
In the last few months, I am working closely with my colleagues in the UK @Potus And @VPTo ensure that the private data of Americans is private and our constitutional rights and civil freedom are protected.

Apple now expects to bring back its ADP encryption for iCloud data backup to UK.
