Tri-fold Huawei Mate XT leaks in hands-on image | Infinium-tech

Huawei’s long-teased tri-fold smartphone is going official in China on September 10 and will be called the Mate XT. A recently surfaced image shows a side-by-side hands-on view of the device, but don’t take it too seriously. It’s hard to tell how real this is since the Mate XT will be the first tri-fold smartphone we’ll ever see. Maybe it looks like this from the side, maybe it doesn’t. Either way, we’ll have official photos in exactly a week, so there’s no need to wait any longer.

This Mate XT (if it is one) is claimed to be an engineering prototype, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Of course, Huawei could also offer other RAM/storage combos at launch. The phone was reportedly listed on a second-hand sales platform in China for a whopping price of CNY 16,888, which is equivalent to $2,371 or €2,147 right now.

Since this is the first device of its kind, you definitely shouldn’t expect it to be cheap.
