Smart rings are the new wearable craze, with many manufacturers launching competing models, but most of them are quite expensive – for example, the Galaxy Ring is $400, while a Generation 3 Aura ring (which is now three years old) still goes for $300. But smart rings don’t have to be expensive, as the new model from Rollmi shows.

The Rollmi R3 can be yours for just $90. Technically there have been two models launched before, but Rollmi launched the R1 in January this year and the R2 in March. The R1 costs $100 and the R2 costs $90.

The R3 is available in several sizes, from 7 to 12, and can be purchased with a black, silver or gold exterior. Said exterior is made of titanium, while the inside is hypoallergenic epoxy resin, which won’t irritate your skin.

The ring is powered by a 17.5mAh battery that can last up to 10 days with regular use. It also comes with a small recharging case that extends the total wearing time to 60 days.

The ring has a heart rate sensor with IR, red and green LEDs, which can measure your heart rate, heart rate variability and blood oxygen saturation. It can be used to track your health and exercise with multiple sports modes (walking, running, cycling, etc.).

Rollmi says the ring is rated for 5 ATM water resistance and you can take it for swimming and even snorkeling. And at the end of your day, the R3 ring will monitor your sleep with deep and light sleep detection.

The ring has another use – gesture control. You can set up a double tap gesture to play/pause audio, take a photo with your phone, start recording a video or, if you’re reading an ebook, go to the next page.
