The Google Pixel Watch 4 will reportedly use the same old chipset, but will have a bigger battery | Infinium-tech
Google has left Samsung and switching to TSMC for future tensor chipset – first, Tenser G5, will power the Pixel 10 series and is already rounding on Geekbench. The upcoming Pixel Watch 4, however, is not changing the chipset.
The latest report is that Google Watch 3 and Watch 2, Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 will reuse the same chipset.
We have recently heard that Qualcomm is working on a Snapdragon W6, with a large cortex-A78 core and four A55 core, but it seems that Google is not interested in it. Instead, the company can only launch its time until its custom tenser chip is ready on time for Pixel Watch 5. This is what we heard back at the end of 2024 and leakage indicated that the tenser chip will have a 1x A78 + 4x A55 setup as W6 – which is also the same configuration for Exynos W1000.
Back to Google Pixel Watch 4. We have seen the render, which points to a thick body – 14.3 mm, above 12.3 mm. The latest information indicates that both sizes – 45 mm model code called “Canary”/FK 23 and 41mm Model Code called “Meridian”/FME 23 – will have a large battery, which can explain the Chunker Build.
The Pixel Watch 4 41 mm will have a 327mAh battery (Watch 3 41 mm to +20 mAh), while the 45 mm model will have a 459mAh battery (+39mAh). They represent +7% and +9% respectively. It is not high that W5 GEN 1 is not most efficient around the chip. Charging speed will also be increased, but no concrete number has been leaked so far.
In addition to an option offering between 41 mm and 45 mm size, the Pixel Watch 4 will come in Bluetooth and 4G Flavor. And it will be available in many colors with two-tone leather-active sports bands and separate bands with metal aries bands. We hope that the new Pixel Watch 4 will be unveiled along with the Pixel 10 series.
