The Galaxy S26 lineup will get camera and battery upgrades, rumor suggests | Infinium-tech
Samsung has been under intense scrutiny for the past few years for failing to offer meaningful upgrades to its flagship lineup. However, a recent rumor, which we should take with a healthy dose of skepticism, suggests that all Galaxy S26 phones will get substantial upgrades to their cameras, batteries, and displays.

Let’s start with Ultra. It is believed to feature an improved M14 OLED panel with some sort of AI privacy feature, but with the same 6.9-inch diagonal. The AI privacy feature is possibly mentioned in an earlier leak. The main, ultrawide and 5x telephoto cameras reportedly keep 200MP, 50MP and 50MP resolutions respectively, but the main and ultrawide units will be improved.
However, there is still uncertainty over the 3x telephoto camera, as the leaker isn’t entirely sure whether the device will use the same 12MP sensor as before, or a larger 12MP unit, or a 50MP shooter.
The battery has not been confirmed yet, but reports so far suggest it will be a 5,400 mAh cell.
The Galaxy S26+, on the other hand, will likely get a more meaningful camera update as the primary sensor will be replaced with a larger 1/1.3″ (up from 1/1.56″), the ultrawide unit will be bumped up to 50MP and the 10MP telephoto shooter will be replaced with a larger 12MP, 1/2.55″ sensor. Although the report doesn’t explicitly state this, we believe the S26+ will borrow the ultrawide and 12MP sensors from the current Galaxy S25 Ultra. Telephoto cameras.
All this information suggests that Samsung has not abandoned the Plus model and may possibly discontinue the Edge.
The base Galaxy S26 is said to receive the same camera upgrades as the S26 Plus, but with a smaller battery at 4,200 or 4,300 mAh.
Interestingly, the report mentions a slimmer Galaxy S26 model that won’t have as many compromises as the original Edge and would fall right in between the standard S26 and S26 Plus in terms of size.
The display is rumored to be 6.6″ in diagonal, while the main camera will be 50MP and the ultrawide and telephoto cameras will both be 50MP. The battery capacity is tipped to be around 4,300 mAh.
All three, or four if you count the still-unnamed slim Galaxy S26 phone, will run on either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Exynos 2600, depending on the region.
The information comes from an unknown source, but describes the lineup surprisingly well, so an inside source may be involved. Still, we’re cautious, as recent rumors about the Galaxy S26 Edge and S26 Plus have been quite confusing and contradictory.
