Tecno’s Phantom Ultimate G Fold tri-foldable concept folds inwards to protect the display | Infinium-tech
A year ago, Tecno showed a prototype tri-foldable phone called Phantom Ultimate 2 (if you are thinking, was a rollable concept from the original Phantom Ultimate 2023). However, the company is now experimenting with a separate three-trick layout that provides better security for performance.
Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept Folds InwardThe weak 9.94 ”the main display is completely turned when it is folded when it is folded. It is similar to the horizontal two-whee and a cover display that is used when the phone is dumped.
Phantom Ultimate G Fold Try-Fold Concept has a huge 9.94 “display
Old Phantom Ultimate 2 Concept Huawei Met Exti Ultimet was more like – it had only one display and was folded in such a way that one third of it was exposed in exchange for a cover display.
Phantom Ultimate G fold concept changes. It has a small hinge that forms a small tearful shape as it bends the right third of the display. Then there is a big hinge on it and a self-locking mechanism keeps the device closed.
Phantom Ultimet G fold uses two sizes of hinges
The result is an impressive diluted phone when folded, just 11.49 mm. Opening it drops the thickness only to 3.49 mm. For comparison, Huawei’s Tri-Thuni phone (which is a production model, to be fair, not only a prototype) is 12.8 mm folded and 3.6–4.8 mm unfolded (different segments have different thicknesses).
The additional cover display adds slight thickness – Phantom Ultimate 2 concept was 11 mm – but it is a small price to pay for a more durable tool.
Phantom Ultimate G Guna is only 3.49 mm thick when revealed
Guna has a battery capacity of “more than 5,000mAh”, which is quite impressive, given how thin individual segments are. We want to see an accurate number, however, Huawei managed to move up to 5,600mAh.
The triple camera (lens and sensor details TBA) stays at the middle of the tecno phantom ultimate G fold – which puts it on the back of the device when turns. The hinges can be conducted at various angles, which allows you to target the camera as it was on a tripod.
Tecno used ultra-high-string steel (2,000MPA) and a thin-sturdy Titan fiber plate (measuring 0.3 mm) to make this design possible.
Some details are kept in wrapped for now, such as the size of the cover display, weight of the phone and so on. The chipset is described as “high-demonstrations”, but we do not even know its brand.
It is not that all this matters a lot – again, Phantom Ultimate G Guna is just a concept tool. If you want to see it personally, Tecno will bring it to your booth in MWC 2026. The company is sure to bring more phones (foldable and otherwise) to the Congress – eg, sequel to Phantom V Flip and V Folds.
