Tecno Phantom V Flip2 review | Infinium-tech
Introduction
You might be surprised but Tecno has not one but two generations of foldables. Today, we have the Phantom V Flip2 for review, and it’s quite an interesting device.
Just because Tecno is making headway in the foldable market doesn’t mean the company has abandoned its value roots. In contrast, the Phantom V Flip2 is one of the most affordable flip devices, launching at less than half the current price of the Galaxy Z Flip6.

But its appeal goes beyond being able to outperform its rivals. It has a new cover display and many new software features. Although not much has changed inside the phone, and you basically still get the same 6.9-inch foldable, 120Hz, LTPO, AMOLED display, just with thinner bezels, the external design is radically different this year. The small, circular cover display of the original Phantom V Flip is gone, and now we have a nearly square 3.64-inch outer panel with a sleek new camera design. The new Cover Display is fully functional and supports widgets, full apps, and even a keyboard, which feels like a usability game-changer.
In the coming age of AI, Tecno introduced the Gemini-powered voice assistant that comes pre-installed on the Phantom V Flip2. It is a chatbot that will bring real-time search results and some features to improve general usability.
Tecno has also increased the battery capacity of the Phantom V Flip2 by about 20% to 4,720 mAh. The charging rate also improved to 70W; The company claims that it can fill the entire battery in 43 minutes (or 50% in 15 minutes).
We also can’t miss mentioning the new dual 50MP camera setup on the outside and an autofocusing 32MP selfie on the inside.
unbox
The Phantom V Flip2 comes in a very unique two-piece cardboard box.
You get a surprisingly rich accessory package. It includes a 70W fast charger, a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable, and a clear plastic, two-piece case for the phone. There are some stickers in the box as well.
