Spotify is now testing AI audiobook recaps on iOS | Infinium-tech
Spotify announced that it is now beta testing AI audiobook recaps for iOS users. The purpose of this feature is to summarize the audiobook to the last point where users left it, so that they can quickly resume their listening session.
Recaps are currently limited to a small selection of English-language audiobooks, but Spotify has confirmed it plans to expand it to more titles soon. The Recap button will be placed just above the Chapter section and will only appear if you’ve listened to a title for at least 15 minutes.
Recaps cover only the part of the book you’ve already heard. Like the “Preliminary” feature for TV, recaps help you easily reconnect with the story without needing to listen to it again. Designed to reduce friction and keep you engrossed, Recaps is part of our ongoing effort to make audiobook listening more intuitive, intuitive, and listener-friendly.
Additionally, Spotify also announced updated shuffle controls for premium users. The low repeat feature will ensure that recently played songs are less likely to be repeated. This feature is available in the Settings tab of the Spotify app under the Playback menu.
