Sony Xperia 1 VIII’s FCC certification hints at retained 3.5mm audio jack | Infinium-tech
We’ve already seen renders of the alleged Xperia 1 VIII’s redesigned camera island, and now we have an FCC listing, which comes much earlier than last year.
The listing has model number PY7-30515Z, which is presumably the Xperia 1 VIII. Although it does not contain images of the device, we do get confirmation of several key features. The upcoming flagship Xperia will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack and feature wireless charging.

We’ve also got confirmation that it will feature Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) connectivity, just like its predecessor. It will also bring the same 5G band support as the Xperia 1 VII, namely the N5, N41, N66, and N77 bands.

According to rumors, the Xperia 1 VIII will bring an updated camera setup featuring three 48MP sensors. We’re expecting a larger main shooter with a new telephoto sensor in the 1/3″ to 1/2″ size range. The ultrawide will be similar to the Xperia 1 VII. Sony is also expected to outfit its upcoming flagship with the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
