Some of the GSMArena Android app users encountered a bug, do this if you are affected | Infinium-tech
TL; Dr: Our mobile app started experiencing issues earlier this month. The bug Android system was caused by the beta version of the webview component. It has been fixed in the latest edition released by Google on Play Store, V139.7258.51 from July 23. You can download it this link,
The first reports of issues came after Android’s July 2025 Google System update. For a limited number of users, our mobile app did not display materials in portrait mode (although it worked in landscape orientation). We reported the bug to Google, which immediately released a certain version of the component. If you have this problem, you can manually download the latest beta version from the link given above.
This is what some of our users saw with bugled webview beta
If you do not see the “update” button, try to uninstall the first component, then try to re -install it – which should install the latest version. If you simply uninstall the beta version, you will temporarily run a stable version instead. This will not prevent future beta versions from being automatically installed, however, as you will still be enrolled in beta channel.
You may want to get out of the beta channel for a webwue component to avoid running in such a future bugs – especially if you have accidentally signed up for it (as we understand that some of our users did). Can be done using exit this link (You should see a screen like above).
Note: Users who were not running the webwue beta were not affected and they did not need to do anything. In addition, it is not related to the beta version of the GSMARENA app.
