Samsung will reportedly release a Galaxy S25 Slim next year as a test for a potential S26 design | Infinium-tech
Ten years ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Alpha, a thin 6.7mm phone that would inspire next year’s Galaxy S6 design. Korean publications etnews Quoting industry insiders, it is being claimed that the company is going to try something similar again.

Insiders say Samsung will launch a slim version of one of the Galaxy S25 phones. Note that this will be a separate device that will launch later — the Galaxy S25 series is still expected to arrive early next year, with vanilla, Plus, and Ultra models.
Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, the slimmer device will arrive a few months later. And just like that, the main focus will be on making the device thinner. It’s unclear which of the three S25 models will serve as the basis for the Galaxy S25 Slim (or whatever it’s called).

Insiders claim that this is how Samsung may be testing the waters – how much is the demand for thin phones? – and if it gets encouraging results, it will incorporate it into the Galaxy S26 design.
We have already seen a report election Samsung will replace the Galaxy S25 FE with a slim model and this is linked to today’s report – FE models usually launch a few months after the main series. This helps prevent S FE phones from squeezing out S phone sales, something that is reportedly a concern with slim models as well.
It’s also been reported that Apple is planning a slim model to replace the struggling Plus model (which replaced the struggling Mini model) next year.
But do consumers really want thinner phones? This is what Samsung tries to figure out before committing to that option with its bread-and-butter Galaxy S line.
