Samsung tri-fold appears in One UI 8 code | Infinium-tech
The Samsung foldable phone was one of the pioneers in the market and we have already seen a teaser about its upcoming tri-folded device. Some rumors suggest that we can see the tri-folds at the next week’s Galaxy Unpacked event and now we take a real look for the device for the team. Android authority Who discovered the eminent animation files hidden in the latest one UI 8 build.
These show the design of the device, including three rear panels and two inward folding. The more interesting bit is that Samsung’s triangular-tumble facilitates different sizes and will allegedly fold the inwards rather than the external folding approach seen on Huawei’s friend XT.

This means that Samsung’s device must be revealed from right to left as shown in the following animation.
A separate video shows a warning for not turning to the right of the device (which has three rear cameras on its back), as it can break the display.
The device has a cover screen that will reside in the middle when the main folding screen is completely open.

Samsung’s three-folds are referred to as multifold 7 in a UI 8 code, while previous rumors suggest that it is internally called Q7M. While its commercial name is not finalized, previous reports have been indicated that it is called Galaxy G fold.
According to the previous leaks, Samsung’s first three-fold device will have 9.96 “folding screen and 6.54” cover display. It is expected to weigh about 300 grams and can only be launched in South Korea and China.
