Samsung is building a dedicated production line for iPhone Fold OLED panels | Infinium-tech
The last report we saw for the foldable iPhone claimed that it was already with a temporary launch for September 2026 in its prototype test phase. Now we get additional supply chain information ET News Which claims that the Samsung display is constructing a dedicated production line for foldable OLED panels at its A3 plant in the seat of South Chungchong province.
Samsung is expected to be an exclusive display supplier for Apple’s foldable iPhone. Apple was reportedly affected by Samsung’s almost crease-less display, which will be used on 7.8 “main displays of the iPhone fold.
According to the new report, Samsung estimates that it can produce 35,000 foldable display units per month and up to 15 million per year. This will be more than enough for cupertino, which is expected to sell anywhere between 6-8 million units of its foldable iPhone.
The foldable iPhone is expected to bring a 5.5-inch cover screen, under-display camera and side-mounted touch ID sensor. The device will be extremely diluted at about 9 mm when folded and it will use a liquid metal hinge. Initial estimates suggest a launch value of $ 2,100 – $ 2,300 – slightly higher than Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy Z fold 7.
