Samsung Health Monitor is an app that enables ECG readings and some other advanced health tracking features for Galaxy Watch users with Samsung smartphones. However, the company is now making a slight change in it and it will be limited to users with Android 12 or newer version of the platform.

App support for older devices will stop on December 23 and only limited services will be available after that.

A notice appears on the screen as soon as an app is updated through the Galaxy Store. It says that the next version of Samsung Health Monitor (1.4.1) will not be supported on phones running Android OS 11.0 or below.

Samsung generally updates its devices regularly, meaning only a few older entry-level smartphones and flagships over five years old will be left out.

Yet if you have a Galaxy Watch with ECG or blood pressure tracking features and a device on the wrong side of those limits you may eventually have to upgrade.
