Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold sells out again in Korea, laughably small stock to blame | Infinium-tech
One way to build hype about a new product is to supply it less than the demand and then wait for all the “sold out” titles to appear. Samsung appears to be doing exactly that in Korea with the Galaxy Z Trifold, which sold out within minutes when it first went on sale a few days ago.
The company then promised a restock for this week, and it has already happened today. Once again, it sold out – this time in two minutes. But here’s the thing – reports say that the initial stock sold for the first time was 1,000 units, and the total “initial sales volume” including today’s round was 3,000.

In a country of nearly 50 million people, 3,000 units is a ridiculously small quantity. So Samsung had two choices here: wait until it made more and only then put it on sale, or put it on sale anyway and then sell out several times almost immediately, giving the feeling that it’s ‘selling like hot cakes’, even though it’s not. It’s pretty obvious which way Samsung went, right?
The Galaxy Z Trifold is expected to arrive in the US, UAE, Singapore, China, and Taiwan in the coming weeks. Don’t be surprised if it sells out there too.
