Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is official and will be on sale next week | Infinium-tech
After countless leaks and prototype showcases, Samsung officially announced its first tri-fold smartphone. The Galaxy Z Trifold embodies Samsung’s expertise in foldables, which now spans more than 16 devices, and it brings the largest screen of any Galaxy foldable with some clever software tricks and flagship specs.

The major development on the Z Trifold is its dual titanium hinges, which allow the main folding screen to be completely protected when not in use. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT and Mate XT, the cover screen of the Z Trifold is on the back, while both edges of the folding screen can fold into the center.

Talking about the folding screen, it has a diagonal of 10 inches when fully opened with a 2,160 x 1,584px resolution, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1,600 nits peak brightness. There’s a small punch hole cutout on the right side for the 10MP selfie camera, and it comes with a pre-installed protective film, just like the rest of the Z series foldables.

The 6.5-inch cover screen has a 2,520 x 1,080px resolution, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It can output up to 2,600 nits peak brightness, has Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection and also includes a 10MP selfie cam.

The software side is covered by OneUI 8 based on Android 16, and the larger canvas allows for some clever multitasking options. You can run three full-sized apps simultaneously in portrait mode. The Galaxy Z Trifold is the first Samsung phone to feature a standalone Samsung DeX, which brings a desktop-like interface from the quick settings panel. Combined with a mouse and keyboard, the Z Trifold can serve as a portable workstation.

The Z Trifold is impressively sleek thanks to its Advanced Armor aluminum frame and measures just 3.9mm at its thinnest point. It weighs 309 grams and measures 159.2 x 75 x 12.9 mm when folded. Like the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, the Z Trifold brings IP48 ingress protection against dust and water.

The TriFold, like the Z Fold7, brings Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite to the Galaxy, which is now a generation behind the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. It is paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB storage.
The Z Fold7 sports a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 200 MP main shooter (ISOCELL HP2), a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

Samsung has also fitted a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery split between each of the three back panels of the device. It has 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Samsung Z Trifold will be available in single crafted black color. While pricing has not been revealed yet, we have received confirmation that buyers in South Korea will be first in line for the device as it is set to be available starting Friday, December 12. Samsung has confirmed that it will expand availability to China, Taiwan, Singapore, UAE, and the US in the future.
