Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 passes bend test with flying colors, gets promptly torn apart | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 officially launched on July 10 and went on sale alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 last week. Now it’s time to see how durable the new Fold6 is, and you probably already know what that means. It will be scratched, burned, and bent (or not) in a trademark test plan devised by Zac of the YouTube channel jerryrigeverythingAnd then, after all this, it will be taken apart bit by bit.
Let’s see how it works, shall we? The inner screen of the Fold6 is still covered in plastic, so it gets scratched more easily than the outer screen. The frame is surprisingly made of aluminum except for the antenna cutouts. The inner screen lasts about 25 seconds under the heat of the lighter before the plastic melts and the pixels turn black.
Sanding the hinges makes it make a lot of rattling noises which isn’t very reliable for the future. Finally, the bend test saw the Fold6 flex when folded (when unfolded), but it doesn’t break or crack.
The twist in the tale is that Jack doesn’t stop there – he also takes the phone apart, resulting in some smoke coming out of the ribbon cable for the screen. The strange thing is that the phone’s inner display continues to work even after it is removed, but Jack keeps trying until the entire phone is taken apart.
