Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra in for review | Infinium-tech
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra arrived at the office in three different boxes! The watch has its own box, the “S/M/L” bands have their own box, and they are in a larger box. You also get a USB-C to wireless charging puck with the watch.
The biggest thing with the Galaxy Watch Ultra is that it looks a lot like Apple’s own Watch Ultra 2, but if you look past the similar buttons and the orange color and strap color, it’s a very different device.
For starters, it has a square case with a circular bezel and screen inside, while the Apple Watch Ultra has a rectangular display case.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra doesn’t have a physical rotating bezel, which is a big point of contention for Galaxy Watch fans, but it does have a software rotating bezel that rotates when you move your finger along the edge.
There are three buttons on the side of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The middle button is the new “Quick Button” and by default, it opens the Workout menu. You naturally go to this button as the home button and it feels unnatural at first. You also expect it to rotate, which it doesn’t.
A note on the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s vibration strength – it’s very high!
It’s a big watch – once you take it out of the box, where it starts without a strap – it feels big and bulky for a smartwatch. But once worn it sits balanced on a normal wrist and doesn’t feel as big as it looks.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra features the new Exynos W1000 SoC that immediately catches your eye. Everything on this watch is fast and smooth – more so than the Galaxy Watch6 series.
These are just our initial impressions. We will take our time testing it out! Stay tuned!
