Samsung Galaxy Watch FE gets Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch update | Infinium-tech
Samsung started updating its smartwatches to the One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 in July, and it has been quite slow since then. Today, the latest wearable to arrive with the update is the Galaxy Watch FE, which was launched in 2024 as a lower-priced model, basically a re-release of the Galaxy Watch 4 under a different name.

Its One UI 8 Watch update is now rolling out in Korea with firmware version R861XXU1CYK6. This includes the October 2025 security patch level, which is ancient at this point in December, but unfortunately that’s how things are at times in the world of Wear OS.

If all goes well in Korea and no show-stopping bugs are found, the update is expected to spread to other countries in the next days and weeks.
If you’re in Korea and want to install it, go to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, tap Watch Settings, then go to Watch Software Update and tap Download and Install.
