Samsung Galaxy S27 series might have a new camera placement, here’s why | Infinium-tech
According to a new rumor from Korea, Samsung is now considering changing the position of the cameras in the upcoming Galaxy S27 family. It’s unclear how the camera island design will change, but if it comes to fruition it would be a very significant redesign – Samsung smartphones have stuck to the current camera island placement for years, which you can see below.

Apparently the company’s reason for doing this isn’t just cosmetic — Samsung may eventually need to tweak the camera to fit magnets on the back of its flagship slab-style smartphones. Magnets are part of the Qi2 specification, but so far only Google has used them in the Android world (they were of course pioneered by Apple in its iPhones).
This will be a welcome change for Samsung as MagSafe accessories will work with its Galaxy S27 series devices even without a case. But of course, this is all rumors and speculation at this point, so don’t get too excited just yet.
The source of this rumor says, “Due to recent cost issues”, Samsung could put this entire project on hold and so we might only see magnets integrated into the Galaxy S28 family, depending on how RAM and storage prices evolve in the next months. We’re keeping our fingers crossed, are you?
