The President of the United States confirmed in a Truth Social post that Apple and Intel have agreed to design and manufacture chips for the Cupertino-based company. Although there is nothing official yet from Intel and Apple, Trump’s claims on social media platforms confirm earlier rumors that Apple is considering taking Intel back into its supply chain.

The partnership between Intel and Apple will bring many benefits. Apple will diversify its chip supply chain for its iPhones, Macs and iPads because it is heavily dependent on TSMC right now, which in turn is under heavy pressure, and production lines cannot meet chip demand from the AI ​​sector. In short, Apple is competing with Nvidia and AMD for TSMC’s production lines.

Intel, on the other hand, will gain a steady demand from Apple, which is a much-needed win for the company, which has faced some setbacks over the past few years. However, things have been looking good for Intel recently. The chip maker announced a new 18A manufacturing technology, and demand for its CPUs is surging.

Ultimately, this is a victory for the current US administration. Apple and Intel bringing chip manufacturing in-house means more jobs and investment, but more importantly, less dependence on China and Taiwan.
